If you don't like the built-in ones, you can download more levels with one click through the built-in add-on panel.I don't have any problems with the camera. If you don't like the built-in ones, you can download more characters with one click through the built-in add-on panel.Levels have variation. Not when I press the up button this textured object moves and some sound is heard. It needs to feel like I am driving this cart. A huge thank you to the devs and kudos for the new release!

Yes, there are things to improve, I agree that the characters should be reworked and the gameplay, specifically the controls, could be perfected a little bit, but overall STK is hugely entertaining and hilarious.

Not when I press the up button this textured object moves and some sound is heard.I spent many hours playing with version 0.9.2 and loved every bit of it. The audio can't just be an event handler on the up arrow button that plays engine_sound.wav over and over. The mechanics of driving needs to affected by the ground such as ice, mud, grass, pavement, etc.The camera needs to feel human, not robotic.Desert, forest, jungle, mountain, volcano, space, beach, city, etc.Well, admittedly I haven't played STK in quite a while. I don't know if you want the road designs to stay within vague realism or you would like them to be much more crazyĠ1:29 actually I'm fine with crazy designĠ1:29 but auria told me to not do too much crazy designĠ1:30 my intent is that the physics engine should be able to handle it wellĠ1:30 I dont mind if it *looks* crazy, so long as it plays smoothly :)Ġ1:30 so now since we handle it well I can do crazy design ?Ġ1:30 yes sure (well maybe not the twists and loops in *every* track, but a tracks where it makes sense for sure!)Ġ1:30 but you told me tracks must be grounded in realityĠ1:31 Is THIS too crazy and surreal for STK?: Ġ1:31 This is the sort of thing I'm talking aboutĠ1:31 I feel like OzoneOne is trying to influence me to do crazy things :PĠ1:32 I would have no problem the kind of track shown in this video (maybe not EVERY track like this though, but a few like this sure!)Ġ1:33 Yes, you need a wide range, otherwise there is no contrast and the crazy tracks become normalĠ1:33 me tooSo maybe we'll have more crazy tracks eventually.
#SUPERTUXKART MODDING INSTALL#
To use this to install SuperTuxKart 1.2 on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS and above run: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:stk/dev sudo apt install supertuxkartĪlthough I really enjoy SuperTuxKart’s online play I am terrible at it! So if you ever see me in a race (I use the username please accept an apology in advance for whatever car crash (literally) unfolds.Code: 01:29 samuncle_ what I'm trying to say is, I'm trying to propose stk's tracks being a little crazier and having slightly less realistic road designs. If you use Ubuntu or Linux Mint and you want the latest version there’s an official release PPA.
#SUPERTUXKART MODDING ANDROID#
You can download SuperTuxKart 1.2 for Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android from the project’s Sourceforge or GitHub pages. Download SuperTuxKart 1.2įancy having some hands-on experience with all of the changes above (plus many more)? While there are no new tracks in this release the game now lets you use add-on karts in online multiplayer races.

Look out for the “cartoon” icon theme, pictured in the hero at the start of this post. This is because the theme now uses SVG icons instead of PNG assets, allowing for seamless scaling on high-resolution displays. SuperTuxKart uses a new “modern” theme that, aside from looking a bit fresher, should look much sharper too. The title also adds new settings to customize the in-game camera, an improved online rating system (only rankings have been reset to enable this), and a handful of improved karts, including souped-up Pidgin and Puffy racers.
